| PROCEEDINGS OF THE INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR ON WAYS AND MEANS TO ESTABLISH ISLAMIC COMMON MARKET |
Following the successful convening of the Eighth Islamic Summit Conference of the Organization of Islamic Conference in Tehran, the Ministry of Commerce of the I.R.Iran was entrusted with the task of following up on its economic decisions. One of such decisions was to hold an international seminar to study ways and means of establishing an Islamic Common Market. This book contains the texts of the papers which were presented at this seminar. The seminar was organized jointly by the Institute for Trade Studies and Research, affiliated to the Ministry of Commerce of the I.R.Iran, and the Islamic Development Bank. In the seminar 16 papers were presented in the following five panels:
- Islamic Common Market: Challenges and Requirements
- Globalization and Trade Liberalization
- Trade Policy, Technology Transfer and Food Security
- Integration and Trade Growth
- Trade Facilitation and Market Access
It also has to be mentioned that other papers which have been approved for being presented at the seminar but due to time constraint were not presented, will be published in the future editions of this book.
