This department pursues the following goals:
- Studying the agricultural and industrial sectors in Islamic countries with the intention of achieving integration in these fields.
- Identifying the tariff, non-tariff and para-tariff barriers in Islamic Countries and examining the possibility of phasing them out gradually so as to facilitate an integration among the OIC members for the establishment of an ICM.
- Studying ways of expanding and modernizing textile and clothing industries in Islamic Countries
- Examining the different treaties concerning goods, financial services, communications, transportations, technical and engineering services with the intention of removing barriers to integration and providing a way of coordinating activities in these areas amongst Islamic countries.
- Studying the ways & means for gradual liberalization of service sectors of the OIC member countries.
